Clarke County Conservation is moving forward with development of the new Oakwood Pond, an approximately three-acre public fishing pond and natural habitat restoration project located just eight miles north of Osceola. The project will expand outdoor recreation opportunities, improve erosion control, and restore native prairie habitat through partnerships with CCDC and state and federal funding sources.

Thanks to a $30,000 Grant from CCDC, the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office has placed a new fully equipped patrol vehicle into service after a cruiser was totaled in the line of duty.
