As many may have noticed, there’s been some renovation activity on Osceola’s Historic Square. This is through the Facade Project administered by Osceola Chamber Main Street. After many months of planning and applying for grants and support, OCMS and local businesses have finally kicked off the renovation projects for the beautification of the square.

The recent Community Nonprofit Forum hosted by CCDC provided more than the opportunity for nonprofit organizations to present their platforms and missions to help the community. It also provided a huge boost to the lucky winner of a $5,000 donation drawn from names of those attending the event.
Just in time for the holidays, this year’s recipient was Clarke County’s Toys for Christmas organization.

After more than three years, the Murray Fire Department has their new emergency vehicle! After receiving a 2020 CCDC Pillars grant for more than $50K, the process of building and acquiring the equipment for the new vehicle was stalled out by COVID and increasing materials costs.

The iJag program that was implemented in the Clarke Community School district just last year has seen some spectacular results. Earlier this Summer, Infinity Health’s Dental Clinic relocated to Osceola’s historic square. With the help of a $50K Pillars Grant from the CCDC, the clinic is now offering dental care for those who may be under- or uninsured.
