Osceola Chamber Main Street has been working hard with updates and beautification projects on Osceola’s Historic square. The latest venture OCMS is taking on is a mural design partnership with students from the Clarke National Art Honor Society for a 7′ x 12 mural to be posted at 100 S Fillmore.

The Comprehensive Plan for the City of Osceola is quickly approaching the next phase of the development process. After the data gathered from extensive community input as well as from city officials and business owners, the team at RDG Planning and Design are working diligently to finalize it all and bring the plan together. The team at Osceola Water Works would to thank everyone who participated in the State of Osceola’s Water Town Hall meeting on the 26th. There were a lot of great discussions and action items developed or reinforced from the event. Overall, it was a success and shows how the community can come together to discuss these issues.

In the Osceola Water Works Board meeting Thursday night, the water board voted unanimously to increase the conservation requirements from Section 2 – Water Warning, to Section 3 – Water Emergency, across all municipal water customers, residential, commercial, and industrial.

With a systems-oriented approach, the new Director of Special Education and Special Services for Clarke Community Schools kicked off her first year in the role after more than 20 years with Green Hills Area Education Agency (AEA). Jennifer Adams-Potter has held leadership roles helping special education programs across the state with program development and more. Now she brings that focus to the Clarke district.

The iJag program that was implemented in the Clarke Community School district just last year has seen some spectacular results. With the support from local businesses and organizations, the fledgling startup program more than doubled their student enrollment and saw some spectacular results for program participants as well as those supporting businesses!
