The JunctionTown Showdown Truck Show and Tractor Pull started with a couple friends discussing the need for a family friendly event in the area that would also support local community education and business growth. By partnering with the Clarke County Fair Board they were able to make their vision come true. Today, they’re excited to bring the first-ever JunctionTown Showdown event to Osceola, Iowa.

Proceeds from this event will go back to the local community. The show originators will be designating scholarships through the Southwestern Community College Education Foundation and the Des Moines Area Community College Foundation for local students to use in the pursuit of a career and technical education degrees. There will also be monetary donations to various youth groups from fundraising throughout the weekend’s events.

Clarke County Fair board provided the land and event space for the tractor pull and vendors while the Clarke County Development Corporation (CCDC) offered space in the E. Eddy Saylor Business Park adjacent to the fairgrounds, for vehicle parking and the truck show.

“With their commitment to donating proceeds to local students, the CCDC board saw this as an exciting opportunity to tie in trade education and a focus on growing our manufacturing base,” said Bill Trickey, CCDC Executive Director.

According to the show proprietors, JunctionTown Showdown is anticipated to be an excellent production, partnering with two well-known and experienced associations: Pro Pulling League for the truck and tractor pull and No Coast Large Cars for the truck show. Both of these organizations have a huge following and will provide excellent exposure for the city of Osceola and Clarke County through their social and media networks.

“We will have contestants in attendance for both events coming from all over the United States and Canada.” Said Jesse Giza, Show organizer. “We look forward to making this event something that everyone wants to come back to year after year.”

Their event will be publicized throughout the team’s social media channels, print flyers, their website, local and regional radio, as well as television/broadcast advertising in Omaha, Kansas City, Des Moines and Eastern Iowa. Sponsors and attendees will also benefit from information and announcements during the shows.

The JunctionTown Showdown team are still looking for volunteers and some sponsorship opportunities are still available.
