Get the Kids Ready for Spring with Safety Night!

Warmer spring weather brings with it the chance for families to spend evenings and weekends outside once again! Bicycles, skateboards and scooters will be dusted off and the sidewalks and streets will start to fill up with little ones enjoying the fresh air and longer days. To make this transition to summer break easy and safe for kids and parents, alike, bring the family to Safety Night, April 17, from 4:30-7:00pm!

The Clarke County Prevent Child Abuse Council, with help from many generous sponsors, wants to teach children and families how to stay safe while enjoying outdoor fun. With some amazing activities, Safety Night is an opportunity to teach children how to make safe choices when riding bikes and skateboards. This is also a great opportunity for parents to have their current safety equipment, including car seats and helmets, checked by experts.

Some of the fun events being held at Safety Night include:

  • Bike Raffle – attendees will receive a FREE entry to the bike raffle, with a chance to win one of EIGHT bikes!
  • Bike Helmets – get properly fitted for a bike helmet and take home a FREE HELMET!
  • Car Seats – have your infant and child car seats and boosters checked for proper installation and up-to-date safety features!
  • Bike Rodeo – take part in or simply enjoy a bike rodeo with a variety of fun games!

Visitors can also watch a “Protect Your Melon” demonstration and learn basic bike and scooter safety tips! With free refreshments and safety information covering a wide variety of topics for the whole family, Safety Night is sure to be a good time for everyone!
