On May 7th, 2024, the Osceola Water Works’ team will be handing out more than 1,500 cases of bottled water. This is in response to a generous donation received to help with the ongoing water conservation efforts throughout the community.
Chem Sult, Inc., who serves the Osceola Water Works treatment plant with raw water sanitization and clarification chemicals, teamed up with Osceola Hy-Vee to procure a truckload of bottled water to donate to Osceola Water Works customers. On April 12th, 18 pallets of water were delivered to the Osceola Water Works facility.
“We realized the urgency of the water situation in Osceola and wanted to step up to help our partners,” said Travis Webber, Chem-Sult, Inc. representative.
On Tuesday, May 7th, the Osceola Water Board of Trustees and Osceola Water Works staff will be distributing the cases of bottled water to the customers of Osceola. Two sessions are scheduled; the first is from 1:00pm – 3:00pm and the second is from 5:00pm – 7:00pm to help reach as many customers as possible.
“This is a fantastic way to support our community” said Brandon Patterson, Osceola Water Works Superintendent. “Chem-Sult, Inc. and Hy-Vee’s generosity shows that the Osceola Community matters.”
Bottled Water Giveaway Event Details:
Date: Tuesday May 7th, 2024
Times: TWO SESSIONS – 1:00pm to 3:00pm and 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
Where: Osceola Water Works Offices: 208 W. Jefferson Street, Osceola, Iowa 50213
On the day of the event, West Jefferson Street will be divided out so participant traffic can approach the Water Works front door from the west, driving toward Osceola’s square. The Osceola Water Works team will hand out one free case of bottled water per vehicle. To assure that all interested customers receive a case of water, each customer’s name and address will be documented to track supply.
“While we wish we could do more, this initial donation will help with conservation efforts and help lighten the costs of bottled water for each of our customers,” said Patterson.
Conversations between Osceola Water Works, Chem-Sult, Inc., and Hy-Vee continue for future events. If other organizations would like to help with the donations, please reach out to Osceola Water Works to coordinate delivery and distribution.
