Clarke County Hospital and UnityPoint Clinic® Family Medicine – Clarke County are excited to announce the arrival of a new Chief Medical Officer and new UnityPoint Clinic providers arriving in late June and early July.
Clarke County Hospital is proud to welcome Jenny Butler, M.D. as their new Chief Medical Officer on Monday, June 27. Butler is a medical graduate from the University of Iowa and completed her undergraduate degree at Iowa State University. She completed her residency at Iowa Lutheran Hospital and is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Butler specializes in family medicine, occupational medicine, and is certified to perform Department of Transportation (DOT) physicals. Butler comes to the clinic from Unity Point Health – St. Luke’s Cedar Rapids, Jones Regional Medical Center where she practiced from 2008-2016 acting as the Urgent Care, Inpatient, and Occupational Medicine and Employee Health Medical Director. She was honored as the Jones County Iowa Top 20 Leaders under 40 in 2015 in addition to receiving St. Luke’s Hospital Quality Award. Butler sits on the Anamosa Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, is an active Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentor, and a local volunteer for Ambulance Services as Medical Director.
Along with her CMO responsibilities, UnityPoint Clinic is also delighted to announce that Butler will be a new provider in the clinic seeing patients twice a week. Butler will serve a key role in further developing the relation between Clarke County Hospital and UnityPoint Clinic enhancing patient care and outcomes.
UnityPoint Clinic also proudly welcomes Amy Lortz, P.A. – C. to their team on July 11. Lortz completed her medical education at Des Moines University and completed her undergraduate degree at Iowa State University. Lortz is board certified by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants. She specializes in family medicine, acute care and women’s health. Lortz will be a welcome addition to the UnityPoint Clinic family and will help the clinic with coordinating care and same-day access for patients. Lortz recognizes that continuity of care is key to patients’ long-term health and improving the health of the community.
