Now through September 13th, Osceola’s Clarke County Hospital has extended their operating hours giving patients more time and availability to schedule mammograms.
According to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation:
Mammography is good at finding breast cancer, especially in women ages 50 and older.
Overall, the sensitivity of mammography is about 87 percent. This means mammography correctly identifies about 87 percent of women who truly have breast cancer.”
By offering extended hours, the hospital hopes to provide better awareness to the benefits of having a regularly scheduled mammogram.
The Clarke County Hospital Foundation has received funding to pay for mammograms for Clarke County residents who are under-insured or uninsured. Patients are encouraged to inquire about this when scheduling your appointment.
Below is a flyer distributed by the hospital outlining the special hours as well as how to contact them for additional information.
