When you pour a glass of water, wash the dishes, or flush the toilet, you probably don’t stop to think about everything that makes those everyday conveniences possible. During Water and Wastewater Workers of Iowa Week, August 23–29, 2026, Osceola Water Works is proud to recognize the hardworking team of professionals who keep our water systems safe and reliable.
Behind the scenes, Osceola’s water and wastewater professionals work to make daily modern life possible. They help protect the health of our community by making sure drinking water is safe and wastewater is properly treated. This treatment also helps protect Iowa’s environment by keeping pollutants out of the rivers, lakes, and other natural resources our communities need. Safe, reliable service keeps schools, hospitals, and local businesses running and supporting the people who live and work here.
Water and wastewater workers aren’t always in the public eye, but we trust them to take care of critical infrastructure, maintaining complex systems that most people don’t think about until something goes wrong. They take care of equipment failures, leaks, and other emergencies every day, working at all hours and in all weather conditions to restore service as quickly as possible. That level of dedication is rare and deserves to be celebrated.
