When you think of career longevity, especially in these days of remote working, low unemployment, and ever-evolving workforces, you rarely hear of decades-long tenures. Clarke County State Bank, on the other hand, may just have the secret to the longevity formula. With a number of CCSB staff employed with the bank for 20 and 30 years or more, at the end of June they bid a fond farewell to Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, Diane Ogbourne after a stunning 40-year career with the bank.
“Some of the best memories I have from the past 40 years with the bank center on our customers,” Ogbourne said. “From bank events, to ice cream socials, valet parking, and volunteering with other staffers to help within the community, it’s the people that have made working here so enjoyable.”
Working alongside generations of staff members that became more of a family than co-workers, Diane helped the bank and her customers through good times and bad. In the 1980’s she worked tirelessly with local farmers and families through the farm crisis. And in the 1990’s and 2000’s she spearheaded the bank’s technology and communications innovations – all while creating programs and developing banking services focused on building strong financial foundations throughout Clarke County. Programs geared toward the entire family – from Thumb Buddies where, to date, over 900 accounts have been opened for kids throughout the community to the Platinum Plus Club where customers 55 and older take advantage of special banking services – were all started under Diane’s guidance and are a staple of the bank’s services today.
“Diane’s service to the bank has been immeasurable,” said Dave Selene, President of Clarke County State Bank. “Her involvement and commitment to helping the community has been integral to the success of our community banking focus.”
After 40 years, Diane Ogbourne closes one chapter of her life and begins a new one. Transitioning from a committed day-to-day banking professional to a loving grandmother and mother sounds like a fantastic journey.
On Friday, June 29th there will be an Open House at the Main CCSB Office in Osceola to celebrate Diane and her retirement. Family, friends, and customers alike will have the opportunity to stop in between 1:00pm and 4:00pm to celebrate an amazing career and an amazing person. And next time you see Diane Ogbourne at any number of community events she stays involved in, give her a big…
